The Company’s Board of Directors has elected to pay dividends, when declared, on a monthly basis for the outstanding common shares and on a quarterly basis for the outstanding preferred shares. For purposes of the enhanced dividend tax credit rules contained in the Income Tax Act (Canada) and any corresponding provincial and territorial tax legislation, all dividends (and deemed dividends) paid by us to Canadian residents on our common and preferred shares after December 31, 2010, are designated as "eligible dividends." Unless stated otherwise, all dividends (and deemed dividends) paid by us hereafter are designated as "eligible dividends" for the purposes of such rules. For the preferred shares, the Company has elected to pay any tax under Part VI.1 of the Income Tax Act, such that corporate holders of the shares will not be required to pay tax under Part IV.1 of the Income Tax Act on dividends received on such shares.
As a reporting issuer, First National Financial Corporation regularly files information reports with the System for Electronic Document Analysis and Retrieval (SEDAR), a service of the Canadian Securities Administrators and the Canadian Depository for Securities.
The Corporation’s SEDAR filings include regular quarterly reports on the financial performance of the Corporation, as well as disclosure of material to the Corporation's shareholders.
