Hassan Pirnia

President and CEO

Hassan Pirnia joined First National as President and Chief Executive Officer in October 2026, bringing more than 25 years of financial services experience across mortgage lending, banking and risk management to this leadership role. Mr. Pirnia most recently served as North American Chief Risk Officer, Personal and Business Banking at BMO, and previously as BMO’s Head of Canadian Business Banking, and Head of Personal Lending and Home Finance. Earlier in his career, Mr. Pirnia held progressively senior positions at CIBC and played a foundational role in building the mortgage business at President’s Choice Financial. Mr. Pirnia holds an MBA and CPA, CMA, and ICD.D designations, and is a Fellow of the Institute of Canadian Bankers. At First National, he will focus on growing the business, investing in people and capabilities, and delivering an even stronger experience for clients, brokers and partners.
