First National Appoints Construction Lending Expert to Lead B.C. Commercial Team
Jeremy Wedgbury, Senior Vice President, Commercial Mortgages
It is my distinct pleasure to announce the appointment of Michael Yeung to the newly created role of Regional Vice President, Commercial Financing, British Columbia for First National's commercial lending division.
Michael has served customers in the B.C. market for 25 years and is recognized for his expertise in real estate financing, including high-value commercial construction lending. Under his stewardship, we plan to greatly expand our presence and profile in a market that First National has served with success since 1991.
Prior to joining us in this important role, Michael served in leadership positions at Laurentian Bank, HSBC Canada and Canadian Western Bank. He chose to join First National, Canada's largest non-bank mortgage lender, and largest commercial mortgage lender, because his customer service philosophy is highly aligned with ours.
As an entrepreneur at heart, Michael believes in the value of competition and teamwork matched by deep market knowledge that only comes from having boots on the ground. His engagement with our proven, high-performance team in the Lower Mainland is sure to create a winning formula for you in the months ahead.
Those who know Michael best tell me he is like a Google search engine for customers – ask any question and Michael will find the best answer. It is this resourcefulness that I believe is key to building a great business for all.
By way of background, Michael is a graduate of Simon Fraser (Business Administration), Dalhousie (MBA, Financial Services) and is a registered Financial Planner and Specialist, Trust and Estate Management. He is a long-time supporter of the Richmond Chamber of Commerce and the Richmond Community Foundation.
Please join me in welcoming Michael to First National.
And as always, if you would like to know more about our conventional, bridge and CMHC insured lending products, or are seeking an expert opinion as you assess your next property acquisition, repositioning, or building project, please contact your First National advisor.
